How to choose the right Baby Monitor

How to choose the right Baby Monitor

Well there are many things to consider and It could get very techy, but I don’t want you to get bogged down and overwhelmed with it all.

I will outline the things that I think are essential to look out for and if you require more in depth detail on any product feel free to drop me an e-mail at support@babymonitorswithcurtis.com or check the product details.

Cost : Before you start your quest in finding your baby monitor have an idea of how much your budget is and try to stick to it! They can range from £20’s to well into the £100’s. It’s very easy to get carried away and spend alot of money with additional products and add-ons etc.

Type of Baby Monitor : Audio/Audio with Sensor Mat or Video Monitor. This comes down to what you want from your monitor, check out babymonitorswithcurtis.com/types-of-baby-monitor for more info.

Functions : There are many! Night lights/music/lullabies/motion sensors/room temperature/range/night vision the list goes on. Write down what functions you would like your Baby Monitor to do and that will help you narrow down your search. If you’re not sure on what functions to go for I suggest checking out a few different monitors and reading their reviews.

Range: So when some friends of mine bought their first baby monitor they did not take range into consideration, to be honest I wouldn’t of done either…..until now. It was in the summer time and they were spending lots of time outside. It turned out that their baby monitor lost signal the further they went into their garden. So before you settle on your baby monitor just bear a few things in mind  – will you be in the garden a lot, do you have a big house or a medium size house or maybe you live in a flat so your little one will only be a few rooms away. Think about your situation and choose the range you need accordingly it can save you a few extra pounds!

Battery life: Pretty straight forward this one but for me quite important. The last thing you want to do is keep having to put your monitor on charge especially if your outside a lot or busy around the house and the dreaded beep beep low battery reminder starts ringing in your ears!

This article was very helpful especially since we have a 7 month old boy. We are at the point right now that we are considering a baby monitor and information is very helpful. My wife is a caregiver and we live next door to the lady she is taking care of and I work most of the day. We might have missed a few considerations especially the wireless range which is very important because the house is not small. Thanks for posting this information.
