iBaby Monitor M6S is one of the most remarkable video cameras on the market today, used for monitoring your baby anytime and anywhere and works as a guardian in taking care of your baby as he or she rests or sleeps. This device has got the extensive high-quality video stream resolution of 1080p and can be controlled by a Wi-Fi connection. This baby monitor is in my opinion one of the best baby monitors with a phone app, which is downloadable in the App Store and Google Play.

It has sensors which detect and help in controlling the temperature and humidity of your child’s room, coupled with the ability of an Air quality testing (8 kinds:- formaldehyde, benzene, carbon monoxide, ammonia, hydrogen, alcohol, cigarette smoke, perfume) …..impressive stuff.

The iBaby Wi-Fi baby monitor camera has an additional feature of HD night vision. There is motion and sound detection and you will receive alerts to your parent unit if your little one makes a noise or moves. This can also be setup to receive alerts direct to your smartphone.

It is compatible for two directional audio communication and the newest version, the third generation can also detect air quality!

Through the iBabyCare app you are able to view and record your baby – anywhere and anytime! This wonderful little app not only allows you to record videos you can make photo’s, a great way to catch perfect moments you can treasure forever!

  • Here are my pro’s and con’s – let’s see how well this monitor performs!

This is my first review of a Philips AVENT baby monitor, so here are my pro’s and con’s.

  • Pro’s

This stylish little baby monitor is compact, light weight and is aesthetically pleasing with a belt clip for on the go parents. It has a clean look about it with black front and sky blue edging,

This Avent baby monitor is very easy to set up and so simple to use. After a full charge the battery will keep going through afternoon and morning  naps no problem.

The voice activation mode is a nice feature and the self-activating screen and volume will switch on when your baby starts crying

The camera itself has a very clear picture with a day and night mode (infra red) and changes between the two automatically.

There is a lullaby mode which is quite pleasant and you can put it on a loop for up  to 30 mins to help your little one drift off to sleep.

With an outdoor range of up to 150 metres and indoor one of 30 metres this monitor allows a lot of freedom around the the home, but you will need to test the signal first as walls doors  and different structures can interfere with the signal.

The nursery unit is wall mountable, which is very hand if you do not have any furniture near enough to your babies cot to stand it on!

    Con’s

There a few to note starting with the camera.  When switching from night and day mode the picture can get a bit hazy and grey in low light conditions.  Also the camera does not have a pan or zoom feature so you have to adjust the picture by manually moving the nursery unit (bit of pain). Quite surprising I thought,  for a Video baby monitor in the price range.

The WiFi  runs off 2.4Ghz and can be prone to pick up interference form other tech in the house. Therefore this monitor is best kept further away from the router and other electronics running on WiFi.  Running 5ghz WiFi  can solve this problem, but is not commonly used.

The night light is not bright enough in my opinion, and with no talk back function, I think a few tricks may have been missed here.

If you are interested in this monitor,  click the link below:

Ensure the Nursery Unit is at least 1 meter  away from your baby’s cot. Keep all wires at a safe distance!

  • So in conclusion is the Philips AVENT digital video monitor scd603 a good investment?

In my opinion its a solid but basic unit for the price tag and it does what it say’s on the tin so to speak!

I’ve added a few other Video baby monitors in the price range below that are definitely worth a look.

As always i really appreciate you taking the time to read my reviews and please do leave a comment if there anything i can help with or a product you’d like me to review,

Kind regards

Curtis

Here are my pro’s and con’s let’s see how well this monitor performs!

Before I started writing my review I had heard a lot of great things about this monitor and many other Angelcare products so naturally as a parent of a young child I wanted to find out for myself how this monitor is preforming, so here are my pro’s and con’s.

  • Pro’s

As I do with all my reviews I start off with how the product looks and with this monitor it ticks all the right boxes for me.The Nursery unit looks cute and has two little wings the left hand wing turns the power on and Halo has a pleasant blue glow which is a soothing light for your little one and can be switched on by the little wing on the right hand side.

Setting up the monitor is pretty straight forward and you shouldn’t come across to many problems just follow the manuals instructions and you’ll be fine. If you do come across any problems there are contact details in the form of a phone number, e-mail or angelcares website at the back of the manual.

The temperature sensor has a nice little feature, there is an alarm function you can set if the temperature gets to high or to low. One little set back with this, there is a button you can press to pause this but it only lasts a few minutes so its obvious that the room temperature will not change in a few minutes so you may want to switch this off.

On the base of the unit there is a little adjustable foot to help you position the camera to get the perfect viewing position. A little tip here if you find it difficult to find a good position for your Angel care monitor you can find a good stand at very reasonable price called a joby gorilla tripod.

The parent unit is basic looking but does its job well it has a touch screen that’s not to fiddly and a handy belt clip. The talk back feature works well and is useful for staying in touch with older children.

The picture is clear but you may want to adjust the distance to get the picture your happy with. There is a night mode function to which it switches to automatically and the camera can zoom in and out and also pan’s round to catch the best picture of your little one!

    Con’s

Not to many here but there are a few things I think worth noting!

The battery life on this monitor could be better, it lasts just over the six hour mark in video mode and not to much longer in audio so a bit of advice make sure you give this monitor a good charge before day time sleeps. You will be mobile in the day and the last thing you want is to have the parent unit on charge hampering your ability to be active around your home and garden.

You can only have one parent unit which isn’t the best if you want multiple units for different rooms.

The range is very good but! a word of caution I recommend you test the signal from various positions in your house and garden before you setup and go, as multiple structures, walls etc can hamper the signal strength significantly.

Ensure the Nursery Unit is at least 1 metre away from your baby’s cot. Keep all wires at a safe distance!

So in conclusion is the Angelcare AC1120 the best video and audio baby monitor on the market?

  • In my opinion its up there but not quite Heavenly! So be confident that aside from a few minor niggles this is a very good all round video and audio monitor and worthy in any nursery! Angelcare is a trusted name in the baby monitor world and this monitor i believe is one of the reasons why!

  • See below a few alternative monitor to consider.

Thanks for reading my review and please leave a comment I love hearing your thoughts and any suggestions for future reviews please let me know.

kind Regards
